May / June 2017

Hi Everybody,

Meet Marie Kondo, my new guru of simplifying. She is a lovely Japanese lady who helps people de-clutter their houses and therefore their lives. One of her axioms is, “It is our job to ‘restore balance’ in our lives.” Isn’t that what meditation is about, to help us live in the middle path of balance? Marie Kondo says, “Letting go is more important than adding.” The more we let go the lighter we become. This includes physical – mental – emotional – and spiritual baggage. Marie says to hold up each object in your life and ask, “Does this bring me joy?” If it doesn’t, get rid of it! Let it go. Finally, why is it so hard to let go of things? Marie’s answer is: because we have “an attachment to the past or anxiety about the future.” I’d say that about sums it up. Aim to understand these 4 principles and your life will be a lighter, joy-filled existence.

So, have fun with it!

Love & Light,
